Preliminary research enables decision-making based on factual evidence rather than assumptions. It serves as a vital foundation for the design and specification of user-centered digital products, particularly complex systems, and is reflected in a deep understanding of users, the content domain, the market, and competitors.
Defining and designing complex systems requires an understanding of users, roles, processes, and dependencies between components. Client meetings including questionnaires, interviews, mapping pain points, and task analysis provide the necessary information to develop the information architecture, user scenarios, and design recommendations, ensuring the system meets users’ needs and capabilities.
Usability testing is a process in which a product or system is evaluated to ensure that its use is intuitive, comfortable, and efficient for end users. Its purpose is to identify issues or ambiguities in the user experience, either before or after development, in order to improve the product and tailor it to the users’ needs and capabilities.
